Should not death, the most significant and final event in our lives, receive the same intention, effort, and investment given to other life events?
The Collective promotes a contribution-based model rather than charging fixed fees or operating as a traditional nonprofit. There is a suggested minimum contribution. Community members assign the value of what they receive—an approach grounded in trust, equity, and accessibility. This model ensures services are available to everyone while inviting a sense of shared responsibility and stewardship. What is the underlying question of this model? “How much value do you assign to what you fear most in your lived experience?” Challenging value perception, societal norms, and the psychology of mortality.
Fees
Accessibility is central to our mission. More than 85% of the Collective’s offerings are provided at no cost to ensure that conversations, education, and support around end of life are available to all. Individual consultations and community engagement services require a minimum contribution to the North Coast EOL Collective or compensation based on an hourly rate. These contributions help sustain our shared work—allowing us to continue offering free programs, maintain partnerships, and expand access to resources across our coastal communities.
